You will need to provide proof of age (Ie, Birth Certificate, school transcript), proof of DC Residency (Report Card), a photo/picture and a Parental Consent Form that lists the scholars name and current address.
What is the attendance policy?
Participants can be terminated from their CRESP position when:
-
The scholar is absent more than three (3) consecutive days without communicating with the site staff about the anticipated absences.
-
The site staff determines whether the participant has been absent too frequently or is establishing a pattern of absenteeism.
-
Please note that doctors' appointments, illness and funerals are a few excuses that are acceptable.
-
If you have a planned family vacation lasting three days or more, please reconsider joining this program. Also communicate first with your site supervisor.
What is the termination policy?
Program instructors/staff may request that a participant be terminated from the worksite; however, they must ensure that all incidents leading to termination are documented and submitted to CRESP staff and the scholar’s parent/guardian.
If the site staff feels termination is appropriate, they will complete a Termination Request Form. CRESP staff will email an official termination notice to the Parent/guardian.
In the event of a termination for violent or illegal behavior, scholars must be dismissed from the worksite. The Office of Youth Programs conducts an official dismissal.
Please see Youth and Parent Handbook for our behavioral policy.
If a participant believes the termination was wrongful, the participant may contact the CRESP office at 202-698-3492 to schedule an appointment with a representative.
