The following is a list of positions available during the School Year Program component.
- Support Staff Internship Training Program
The Office of Youth Programs (OYP) and the Marion Barry Youth Leadership Institute (MBYLI) designed this opportunity for qualified 18-24 year-old participants to serve as ambassadors of the organization and embolden them with the techniques to excel in any youth development office or customer service industry through a paid internship, while allowing them to work in a real office environment.
Successful candidates will work to provide support to office members within the OYP team while also providing support for DOES agency programming; primarily with the Marion Barry Youth Leadership Institute. Experience gained includes, but is not limited to the Mayor Marion S. Barry’s Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) and In-School and Out-of-School Year-Round Programs. Selected candidates will maintain a consistently positive disposition and be responsible for all aspects of general administrative coordination for the office.
