Welcome to Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s 2014 Summer Youth Employment Program

Thank you for expressing interest in Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s 2014 Summer Youth Employment Program(SYEP). The SYEP brings together private sector employers, community-based organizations, Federal government, and District government agencies to provide District youth who are between the ages of 14-21 with an array of summer work experiences to cultivate and stimulate professional and personal career aspirations. Employers in the Washington, DC metropolitan area make this annual program possible by volunteering to serve as Host Employers and providing structured job opportunities for youth during the summer. Below, please find the Host Employer Application for the 2014 SYEP. An agreement must be completed for your program, agency, business or organization in order to participate as a host employer.

There are youth currently enrolled in my year-round program who will apply to SYEP 2014 and need to be assigned to my worksite.
There are youth who are required to attend my mandatory Summer Bridge program as part of their requirement to attend my school in the fall.
I run a special needs program/school and there are youth currently enrolled in my program who will apply to SYEP and need to be assigned to my worksite.

SYEP Career Expo

We will be hosting the 2014 SYEP Career Expo on Friday April 18 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. At this event, you will be able meet certified SYEP youth participants ages 16-21, conduct on-site interviews, and determine which candidates are the best fit for your worksite.

Financial Support
I am interested in supporting the 2014 SYEP financially by contributing to the wages of my youth employees.
I am interested in supporting the 2014 SYEP financially by making a one-time donation.
You are about to register as a Host Employer for the Summer Youth Employment Program. Please note that registration to participate is voluntary. DOES will pay stipends/wages directly to the youth workers assigned to your worksite, but will not provide funding for any additional costs that a Host Employer may incur.
